Will Trump’s Fast-Paced Government Break the Country?

It’s been less than a month since Donald Trump was put back in a position of power for the United States of America. Coinciding with a remembrance day of one of the nation’s greatest activists in history, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Trump vowed to keep extreme promises that he had spoken on the campaign trail. From widespread deportations of illegal immigrants to cutting funds to several of the government’s jobs, Trump has been rapid and quick in his decision-making his second time around in power.

Perhaps this is because it is Trump’s second time in office that he has more familiarity in what needs to be done in his opinion. Though he had several plans and orders that were carried out during his first term, Trump seems to be invigorating his cabinet and the government to push out his agenda quicker than before.

While Trump has passed a sweeping measure of legislation and laws, some of the main ones include banning transgender athletes from competing in their changed gender’s league, most specifically from transgender women competing in women’s sports. This alongside an investigation on transgender athletes, is being headed by the Education Department.

Trump also threatened major threats on tariffs for Canada and Mexico. Trump has repeatedly considered (joke or not) that Canada should become America’s 51st state, an uneasy realization of what may be the scope of his power. Finally, Trump most recently halted major funding in the United States’ foreign aid to several countries, many of which are in Africa. This would majorly disrupt nations who sorely need the help of the U.S. for survival.

In just a few weeks in office, Donald Trump has big plans for the United States. Whether they will pan out for the ultimate benefit of U.S. citizens is yet to be fully determined.
