A cultural icon for everyone in the 90s, Matthew Perry is dead.
Found in his home hot tub, the Friends sitcom actor was known for his charming personality and buzzing enthusiasm on the tv screens. On Friends, he was Chandler Bing, one of the six young professionals living in New York City the show centered on.
Being placed in the limelight for a long time throughout his lifetime, the actor openly talked about his drug and alcohol abuse for the majority of his life. The New York Times reported that Perry first entered rehab in 1997, making regular visits afterwards and attempting to sober up.
His continual fight with drugs led to a number of health-related issues and concerns, such as being in a coma for two weeks and enduring nearly a dozen stomach surgeries.
Tributes poured in from around the world, with RM of BTS paying tribute to the late actor. He simply posted a photo of a youthful Matthew Perry, smiling to his content. Perhaps now, the screen sensation can finally rest.
