Haitian Migrants to Stay or Leave?

Recently, over 4,000 Haitian immigrants have shown up at the Southern border of the United States in search of shelter and new freedom. There, nearly 2,000 migrants have been accepted into the United States. President Biden must now decide each person’s fate on whether or not they can remain in the US, or must be deported back to their original country.

Earlier, The Oklahoman Teen Newspaper wrote an article about the country being hit with wave after wave of natural disasters, including a massive earthquake that shook the country and damaged much of its national infrastructure. Along with the recent presidential assasination and present-day political turmoil, citizens of the Caribbean country are suffering even more than what they had originally expected.

When these migrants arrived “wave after wave” on buses, they made makeshift shelter under a bridge connecting Del Rio, Texas, to Mexico. There, they endured fierce retaliation from the United States Border Patrol. Images of the harshness were spread internationally across the world, and soon made headlines on several news outlets.

The treatment of these humans have sparked outrage from the Democrats in Congress, and they demand President Biden to take action. Biden has played the “middle-man” role as of late, reprimanding the treatment of the Haitian migrants, but also making sure that the camp near Del Rio has been completely cleared.

It’s anyone’s guess now on how this will play out.
