On September 8th, Queen Elizabeth II passed away peacefully in her summer home. She was 96 years old.
The monarch’s death leaves a underlying sense of worry and uncertainty in not only England but the rest of the world. The Queen had been a sense of strength and happiness for over three generations of fellow Brits.
While it is true that the Queen had several health scares prior to her peaceful passing, it was still a shock. Her son, Charles III, will now officially become the King of England. It will be the first time that Britain will have a King monarch since 1952. The Queen had ruled for 70 years prior to her passing, and had just celebrated her jubilee this year. Charles will also take the record of oldest monarch to be crowned in Britain, clocking in at 73 years of age.
The death of Queen Elizabeth comes at the worst possible time for Britain, which is currently under a financial crisis. Several international nations have been seeing skyrocketing interest rates over the past few months, and Britain is no exception. Along with a recent switch in the Prime Minister, the Queen’s death adds to the silent chaos underground.
In the end, the Queen will have much more supporters than haters and doubters. She was an icon for the world and will be missed dearly by millions of people.
