Anti-Asian Hate Continues to Climb

It’s a story that is becoming all too common in society and news channels alike. A person of Asian descent, who has seemingly done nothing to aggravate anyone in the area, is attacked due to their racial descent. These assaults are harmful and detrimental to the world as a whole and must be stopped at all cost. So why, after multiple warnings and national scoldings, are these still happening?

Just yesterday, a black male in Yonkers, New York physically assaulted an Asian elderly woman. Authorities state that the woman was struck 125 times, and was afterwards stomped and spat on. The woman, who was not named, was taken into intensive care and is currently in a stable condition.

The man, 42-year-old Tammel Esco was charged with attempted murder, as well as assault. Having a long criminal history, Esco had been charged with assault back in 2011. He was released in late 2013 after serving a two-year sentence.

As a whole, New York has seen a ridiculous climb in Anti-Asian attacks since the pandemic. While top authorities condemn the attacks, they are continuing to happen, and more and more people are getting injured and severely wounded. This must come to an end, or the racial rift of America will progressively decline to the point of where there will be no return.
