40 Afghan Refugee Families to Come to Stillwater

After the devastating crisis in regards to the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, capable countries around the world have been flocked by refugees. The United States has been one of the hotspot locations for Afghan refugees, with the connection between the U.S. and Afghanistan spanning nearly 80 years.

One state that many refugees have been sent to live on is none other than our state of Oklahoma. According to NPR news, Oklahoma has welcomed more refugees than any other states beside population powerhouses Texas and California. Tulsa alone, has been scheduled to take 850+ refugees alone, eclipsing the total of “many total states”.

The SRAF (Stillwater Refugee Aid Foundation) is welcoming donations from anyone to donate to the CCEOK (Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma). The money collected will support those coming in with food, supplies, and other goods necessary for their well-being.
