9/11, 20 Years Later

September 11th, 2001.

19 hijackers.

Two from Boston, one from Newark, one from Washington DC.

4 flights.

Flight 11 and 175 from Boston.

Scheduled for LA.

Flight 11 crashes into the North Tower.

Flight 175 into the South Tower.

Both critically damaging the World Trade Center.

America is under attack.

Minutes later, the towers fall.

Flight 77 from Newark.

Headed for San Francisco.

It smashes into the Pentagon.

Flight 93 from Washington DC.

Scheduled for San Francisco.

Aimed for the White House or the Capitol building.

Passengers fight their way past the hijackers.

The plane crashes in remote Pennsylvania.

All passengers aboard every plane perish.

2,996 people die in total.

2,700 from the World Trade Center.

It was this horrific moment,

that we chose to wage war against terrorism,

and Afghanistan.

We would eventually kill Osama Bin Laden,

the man responsible for the attacks.

But now, our “forever” war,

declared against Afghanistan,

is over.

America will never forget these attacks.

We will never truly heal.

But we will always remember.

NEVER AGAIN.
